Sun Jar Dye
What better use of the sun but solar power dye. Gather ye rose beds... or in my case goldenrod, marigold, coreopsis, black eyed susan and one black walnut cut into pieces, in each jar.
this is a piece of silk wrapped zig zag with tight string. No rhyme or reason. Pop it into the jar - had boiled some water and it had been sitting while I strng up the silk so it could cool a touch.
I had pre-mordant the silk and bits of wool in my normal alum and CoT.
This is what it looked like after a few hours. I plan to let it soak overnight and unwrap tomorrow...
