This is a Great Blue Heron and he comes to the creek outside my window a couple of times a year - that I notice. This time I was able to open the screen window (which squeaked terribly) without him flying away. They are very shy birds and don't like to be observed - so long and elegant. He hunts crayfish, frogs & fish - all of which are down there. This one looks to be about 3.5 to 4 feet tall. Crazy big. Then when they do fly away they look like what I imagine a pterodactyl would look like. Huge wings and a swoopy gate to their fly. A beautiful bird and I hope he comes again.
