We did this craft with my two boys and their two friends this past Monday. I really wouldn't call it a craft either - its beautiful art work! I think I am going to frame three of them and put them on the walls. I just love them and they had so much fun doing it. You just watercolor on wet paper a background color and then when that is dry you give them a dab of india ink at the bottom and a straw. Sometimes you need to add a bit more ink further up.
Wow what great colors they did. Love it. I found the idea on this web site if you need a bit more help. I wasn't as formal with the tape as she was. I found her site through the crafty crow blog which I can't recommend highly enough. SO many ideas.
I might try these smaller, on cards. Change the background colors to blues and you could have a really cool winer scene for christmas cards.

Those are incredible! The watercolor paper you are using looks really nice, I just bought a big package of paper and I am not happy with the quality at all:( Hope to see you Sunday!
It looks like a lot of fun.:)
Those are so pretty. Thank you for sharing this.
Oh Jullie! Those are beautiful!!! LOVE THEM! I want to try them. That's what you can get me for Christmas a bottle of India ink. ;)
How was the festival? I'm waiting for info... :) -Cynthia
I am sooooo doing this with my 7th grade! and my kids
They look beautiful. I like the colors you used for your backgrounds as well. Good show! Thanks for letting me know you gave it a try as that is the best encouragement I could recieve. I'll have to spend some time checking out your blog. I have always been enthralled with the waldorf small dolls. My daughter and I are always making up some new ones for the nature table.
